Deborah Marcus obtained her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Master of Science in Audiology from Brooklyn College, City University of N.Y. Deborah has been a practicing audiologist and hearing aid dispenser for over 28 years. Beyond her private practice, she is the consulting audiologist at the Five Star Premier Residence of Teaneck and Arbor Terrace. Deborah takes great pride in her sincere commitment to each patient and the hallmark of her practice is ensuring patient satisfaction. She has also earned the trust of the medical community. “My 88-year-old husband, who has early dementia in addition to hearing loss, finally agreed to see an audiologist. Upon meeting Deborah Marcus, she assured me that he would be leaving her office hearing and I would say “Wow.” She spent a generous amount of time explaining in detail the procedure and how the aids could help in easy-to-understand words. After inserting the aids, I whispered something to my husband, and he heard me at which I automatically exclaimed “Wow.” She fulfilled her promise. We cannot do much about dementia, but hearing again has made a huge difference in our relationship. Dr. Marcus understood our tight financial situation and did everything she could to get us a top set of aids without breaking the bank. “My mother is 85 years old with multiple comormidities and newly discovered hearing loss. Dr Debbie was very patient and thorough with her throughout her hearing exam. We soon realized after completing the hearing tests that hearing aids were not covered under our insurance plan and so she referred us to another specialist who accepted our plan- she actually called them herself and made the follow up appointment for us and faxed over the results herself. I was so impressed that she was so caring and compassionate with our situation. I am a Registered Nurse and have worked alongside many doctors and was so impressed that she went the extra mile to make sure there was continuity of care for my mother. What she did could easily be delegated to her staff but she felt the need to make sure my mother would receive affordable hearing aides.
