Doctor of Audiology Jeffrey Shannon earned his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Dayton in Ohio and worked as an engineer and math and science teacher for several years. Then he returned to school, earning his Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. He then began his career helping people hear better at the Veterans Administration National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research in Portland, Oregon, where he helped develop and improve diagnostic testing, treatment devices, and management services for veterans with hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and auditory processing problems. When he returned to his homestate of New York, Dr. Shannon joined Dr. Loavenbruck at Hudson Valley Audiology to offer the highest level of hearing healthcare to his patients in Rockland County and the surrounding community. He is extremely active in audiology professional organizations.
He and his wife Erin, a Speech-Language pathologist in the Nyack Public Schools, currently live in New City and are members of St. Augustine’s Church in New City. They are proud parents of a son and a daughter.

“Everyone in this office is highly skilled, courteous and professional. I have been a patient for many years. Dr. Shannon and Dr. Herget have always monitored my hearing and hearing aids so that they are functioning optimally. Now, I am a cochlear implant recipient and this team guided me every step of the way. After twenty years, I can hear the birds sing again! Dr. Patrikis listens and attends to all of my concerns regarding the implant. She is a brilliant audiologist and I totally trust her. Dr. Stidham, the surgeon who implanted me, works cooperatively with the audiology team. She is also exceptional and outstanding. I also appreciate the office staff who are always polite, friendly and efficient. I live in Florida now, but return to this office regularly for all of my check ups. “I went to Hudson Valley Audiology when I realized I was not earing well. Dr. Shannon took time to help me and explained about
the technology. Now with my hearing aids my ability to hear in normal situations is excellent. I still have problems in noisy situations.

“I was somewhat skeptical that my hearing loss would be significantly improved. I knew many people who complained that the hearing aides only amplified sound and were not helpful in noisy situations. My experiences were so different. I'm so glad I went to dr. Louvenbruck! She spent a great deal of time evaluating my hearing and fitting me with the proper hearing aid as well as the correct programs for my device.
It has changed my hearing ability dramatically. I now go to broadway plays and eat in restaurants etc. without any difficulties. !!
