Solinsky eye care and hearing go beyond their expectation of what a clinic should do. The only thing I say is they need a sign out side showing where to go for glasses and hearing. This is the west Hartford office, I don't know about the other locations.”

“I think if you're visiting Solinsky Hearing for a hearing aid you'll probably be fine. If you visit for Tinnitus, forget it. Dr. Colburn is clueless when it comes to this condition. I mean totally. Why it's even mentioned on the site is a mystery to me. She had zero knowledge, zero suggestions. I asked about a treatment called "The Levo System" a Tinnitus retraining thearpy and she had never heard of it. She offered to find some information about it and get back to me. My appointment was over a year ago, I'm still waiting. ”

“I was very pleased on my initial visit with Ben. I didn't know what to expect but I did have a lot of questions. Ben explained every step of the hearing test and discussed the results in great detail. We talked about the several options available and fully answered all of my questions. Ben also sent me a link to better discuss the options with my spouse. ”

“I have been wearing hearing aides for more than a year and I no longer have to ask people to repeat themselves, can easily hear my exercise instructors, have fewer problems at the theatre, and can hear other people in classes. People no longer get annoyed at me when I don't hear them the first time. The first month wearing the hearing aides was not easy for me. I was not used to having anything in my ear canal and the ear grips were uncomfortable. This was the second time that I tried hearing aides and the first time I gave up after a month. This time I was determined to be successful but I could not have done it without the support that Dr. Colburn provided. She had infinite patience and was always available to reconfigure the way the hearing aide fit my ear. It took several return visits but within a month I couldn't even feel the hearing aides in my ears any more. Dr. Colburn never made me feel as if it was my problem or fault as I had experienced with other audiologists. She continues to be available whenever I have any issues, answers all my questions, and remains a totally professional and expert audiologist.”

“ Like so many other reviewers, I am exceptionally pleased with the level of care I have received from Michelle and Ben. Although the Oticon hearing aids that Michelle recommended represent my first encounter with hearing aids, they are comfortable, easy to care for, and the way I experience sound feels very natural - definitely keepers! However, because I play a digital piano, I found that my hearing aids pick up sound artifacts when I play a certain range of notes in various voices. From my piano dealer I learned this is not an unusual phenomenon that occurs between hearing aids and digital pianos. Adjusting the hearing aids to eliminate the artifacts requires a great deal of skill, patience and finesse - all qualities Ben appears to have in abundance. Realizing and understanding that programing and balancing the sound is a very delicate technical dance, so far I've had about 8 adjustment appointments with more to come. We're definitely getting closer but the adjustment(s) still needs a bit of tweaking. This brings us to my only complaint about Solinsky Centers - all of their offices are spread out on the WEST side of the river. Patients/customers living on the EAST side have no convenient location(s) within a reasonable driving distance. In my case the nearest office is a 50-55 minute drive - one way. That is a pretty big time investment ! When the time comes for new hearing aids, I hope to be able to find an equally excellent doctor and technician closer to home. ”
