Founder and Director of Mayflower Hearing Care, Dr. Mei Gao has extensive experience in audiology in a variety of settings including hospitals, university medical centers, and private practice. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from South China University in China and practiced in Beijing as an Ear, Nose, and Throat physician. After coming to the United States, she earned her Master of Arts degree in Audiology from Temple University and her Doctor of Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Science. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Gao specializes in comprehensive audiological testing and hearing instrument evaluations and training. She is also expert in various other diagnostic tests including Auditory Brainstem Response test and auditory processing evaluations.

“I have been going to Dr. Mei Gao for over 12 years and she is exceptional! I have used the Starkey in-the-ear hearing aids for mild to moderate hearing loss throughout this time. She is always very clear on how the hearing aids worked, is able to balance clear sound input without feedback, and understood my priorities of non-visible, comfortable hearing aids. Years ago, I moved out of state and tried going to a new hearing aid place more local, but realized that it took so many more appointments for them to attempt to fine tune the settings, while Mei is so accurate and successful in meeting my needs right away. So, I make the 8 hour drive back to her every time I need new hearing aids or a hearing test and will continue to do so because I trust no one else more than her. She is the most effective, efficient, and skilled audiologist I have ever used. She is incredibly flexible given my out-of-state schedule needs and is so kind. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for an audiologist.”
