I knew nothing about my hearing loss except that it had come on very suddenly. Her patience and gentle nature made the process of understanding what had happened to me and what could be done about it very easy. I highly recommend her, and her colleagues. Jill explained everything from the various models of hearing aids available and my actual out of pocket costs for each model, to the process my insurance company required, to the services available, to how to ease in to wearing a hearing aid. Also the things I could do to make adjustments, the features available, etc. After picking the model I wanted, within minutes my insurance company finalized everything. “I am a retired Raytheon microwave engineer awarded AS/BS degrees in Electrical Engineering. Experience in microwave technology afforded me the background to evaluate hearing aids for my hearing loss. Audio frequency range is : 20Hz to 20,000Hz. Cheap hearing aids advertised on TV/newspapers etc. do not amplify the higher frequency (sound) affected by sensorineural hearing, over 1000Hz, the most common form of hearing loss accounting for 80% of hearing loss. My former audiologist in Tampa FL referred me to the Audiology & Hearing Center of Venice that serviced my Phonax hearing aids. Dr. Adams advised that a new hearing test would be helpful. Resultant audiogram graph indicated that an updated Phonax would help mitigate background noise and silicone ear molds would eliminate whistling(feedback). Results: Improved clarity, No whistling & improved life style.”

“I started seeing Dr Vickie 5-6 years ago and was fitted with hearing aids. I was always able to get an appointment at my convenience. Most recently after breaking my hearing aid I saw Dr Jill. She fitted me with a loaner pair of aids. What a world of difference, amazing how much the aids had improved. Dr Jill mentioned that some insurances would pay for new hearing aids, lo and behold my insurance was one of the companies that had such a benefit. So I have new hearing aids at a low cost to me. “My hearing loss is due to damage to my hearing from radiation from my oral cancer. I would not trust any box store to get this right. I am so glad that I was referred to Dr. Adams and...I have also been seen by Dr. Cardinal. They both give the time and have the patience to be sure that we get the most out of my hearing aids. With hearing aids I think you need someone who will stick with you and be sure it is all correct. You need a Doctor of Audiology, ....not a salesman who doesn't really ever get invested in YOUR case.
