Lydia Colon,
AuD, CCC-A

Director of Audiology

Dr. Colón received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst, with a certificate in Latin American Studies, and was awarded her Master of Science and Doctor of Audiology degree from Gallaudet University. Dr. Colón had previously completed her last year of doctoral practicum at the world renowned Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her passion is hearing healthcare as well as rehabilitative measures, including hearing aids and cochlear implants. She is a strong advocate of equity and access of healthcare services for marginalized and immigrant populations, spearheading the credentialing of the TLC Audiology Clinic for MassHealth services soon after her arrival in 2019. Dr. Colón has her certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and is fluent in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language.

Monique McKee,
AuD, CCC-A

Audiologist

Dr. McKee earned her Doctorate of Audiology degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences and her Master’s degree in Audiology from Northeastern University in Boston.  She joined The Learning Center for the Deaf in 1996 and has extensive experience working with adults and children. Her passion includes working with our geriatic population, particularly dispensing, repairing, servicing, and fitting hearing aids.

Rose Dawson,
AuD, CCC-A

Audiologist

Rose Dawson received her bachelor's degree at The University of Pittsburgh, with a certificate in American Sign Language, and was awarded her Master of Science and Doctor of Audiology degree from Gallaudet University. She completed her last year of her doctoral practicum at The Learning Center for the Deaf. Dr. Dawson is passionate about communication and human connection as they tie into hearing healthcare, and has a strong foundation in adult and pediatric diagnostic testing and hearing aids. She enjoys playing the ukulele and is fluent in English and American Sign Language.

Megan Vargo,
AuD, CCC-A

Educational Audiologist

Megan Vargo earned her Master of Science and Doctor of Audiology degrees from the University of Pittsburgh where she was a LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities) trainee and the recipient of a Department of Education Pediatric and Educational audiology grant. She completed the last year of her doctoral practicum at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Vargo has been the educational audiologist at The Learning Center for the Deaf since 2011. She is passionate about communication accessibility and supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students throughout their education. Dr. Vargo has a strong foundation in pediatric diagnostic testing and hearing aids. She is fluent in English and American Sign Language.

The mission of The Learning Center for the Deaf is to ensure that all deaf and hard of hearing children and adults thrive by having the knowledge, opportunity and power to design the future of their choice.

The Learning Center for the Deaf audiology clinic  provides comprehensive services to the MetroWest community and beyond. We are a non-profit entity, and all proceeds from services provided and products sold benefit the children and families we serve.
