Thom Humphries serves the Richmond Patterson office and the surrounding area. Thom has matriculated from both Valencia College and University of Miami from the sunshine state of Florida and has been a Hearing Instrument Specialist for over a decade. He has been involved with the community by giving his free time to the Veterans of Foreign Wars to help our veterans with their continued hearing care. Thom also leads discussions with Church, Civic leagues and other organizations to give informational lectures on hearing difficulties.
Thom has always been excited about this industry. He knows firsthand what it is like for a family member not to be able to connect with family and friends and to see the look, many times with tears in the eyes of customers and family, when that moment of truth happens and the customer says, “I can hear you.” It’s Thom’s mission to serve the public as best as he can for better hearing.
Thom and his wife Eva have 3 wonderful boys, Louie, Richard and Bryan, and 2 adorable grandchildren Khim and Sam. Thom and Eva are both hearing aid users. They enjoy plays, musicals, outdoor weekend trips and Church activities.

“I was extremely impressed with Dr. Gonzalex if only because of the battery of tests he did to which I have NEVER been subjected and I am now 72 years old. Those tests included adding "background noise" to see how that impacted my ability both to ear different tones and frequencies and understand spoken words (BTW I scored perfect on the latter), and also by placing the testing equipment outside of my ears, as we hear as much by the vibration of sounds not just in our ear but the bones of and in our skulls--so we tend not to recognize recordings of our own voice as being our voice! I was also in his office considerably longer than I had expected., which also speaks to his thoroughness! A main reason I set this appointment was a prior exam at a different site where I was told I needed to have an MRI done to determine the cause before I could be prescribed hearing aids, and my out of pocket expense just for that test would have been more than I was comfortable spending only to be told, perhaps, that I don't need any hearing aid or there was none that could help me. Dr. Gonzalez said such tests are usually done to be "safe" about the cause(s) of any hearing loss and likely progression, but he also said my loss was slight enough that the basic model would be perfect for my needs. He then took time to go over my payment options, and while the one I chose has a larger up-front cost, by far it has the lowest long-term costs, thus was the best value in my opinion given my health is such that I can expect to outlive the hearing aid rather than the other way around! I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Gonzalez to anyone who is facing the prospects of needing hearing aids.”
