“All the audiologists are first rate. Very respectful, listen to their patients needs and respond accordingly. Very caring and considerate.”
“He was really polite and respectful.”
“Good information. They told me how it was, how it was going to work.”
“I had an appointment with an audiologist who was there, but he frankly wasn't very helpful. I was turned over to an intern who conducted the tests and reviewed the results and gave me some interpretation of them and reviewed a little bit about hearing aids. The audiologist's focus was on helping the intern, coaching her and trying to correct a few things she said and trying to help her out a little bit. All that's fine, I know it's a teaching facility, but I felt like I just part of the furniture, just a supportive secondary role. He did answer some questions that I had. I don't mean to be unkind but, he was far more help to the intern I'm sure than me. I think if they are going to do that, they should just hire someone to come in and simulate the problems. I took the test results to another audiologist who analyzed them for me and was far more helpful.”
Received 03/19/2018Official Response from University of Colorado Health Hearing and Balance Center:“As a regional center for excellence in audiology and otology, we pride ourselves on serving our patients well, and certainly apologize to this patient for his experience. As the University of Colorado Hospital is a teaching hospital, some of our appointments do include interns who provide closely supervised patient care. During this specific appointment, the audiologist was seated next to the intern the entire time, ensuring that the patient’s questions were answered and a proper treatment plan was made. The audiologist and intern spent 30 minutes with this patient beyond his scheduled appointment time, and he reported that his questions had been answered. He was offered an additional future consultation in person or by phone to discuss any concerns, but he declined this offer.”
“I've known this guy for many years, he's always professional.”
