Audiologist

Craig Newman, PhD, is currently Section Head of Audiology at Cleveland Clinic and Professor in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Newman's clinical interests include the audiologic treatment of older adults, hearing assistive technology, and tinnitus management. He has presented and published numerous research articles and chapters in the areas of hearing, dizziness and tinnitus outcome measurement, amplification, balance function assessment, and auditory evoked potentials. Dr. Newman's most current research efforts focus on development of cochlear implant test materials and efficacy of sound therapy for tinnitus management.

Dr. Newman serves as a reviewer for a number of scholarly journals and is an associate editor (Rehabilitation) for the Journal of the American Academy of Audiology. He is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and was awarded the Jerger Career Award for Research in Audiology in 2004 by the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). Dr. Newman has also served on the Board of Directors for AAA.
