I have been a California-licensed hearing aid dispenser since 1991. I am proud to be the owner and hearing aid dispenser at Alliance Hearing Aids. Over my 30-year career, I’ve worked in various roles, including franchise ownership, corporate and small-practice positions, and now as an independent practice owner once again.

The most valuable lesson I've learned over these years is the profound impact untreated or improperly treated hearing loss has on an individual, especially in how it can erode their ability to understand words. Scientific research connects hearing loss to numerous other health issues, but from my personal experience, I’ve witnessed how loss of word comprehension can isolate people. Once word comprehension starts to decline, it can’t be fully regained—you can only strive to preserve what’s left. This is why we emphasize the consistent use of well-calibrated hearing aids. They serve two critical purposes: improving hearing now and maintaining the ability to understand speech in the long term.

Another essential insight I’ve gained is that the professional fitting the hearing aid is as crucial as the device itself. As much as I wish it were only about the device, the expert adjustment and programming of these devices, especially using real-ear measurement, significantly enhance their effectiveness. I am well-versed in the software and devices from all major manufacturers, allowing me to optimize each setting. Our practice model includes a comprehensive approach: hearing tests every 18 months, bi-annual cleaning and maintenance, and multiple follow-up visits after the initial fitting to ensure satisfaction and consistent use.
