Clinical Audiologist

Julia Reid, a dedicated and passionate audiologist, joined our team in 2017. With a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communication Studies, along with a Clinical Doctorate of Audiology (AuD) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Reid brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. A graduate of the Institute of Cochlear Implant Training for audiologists and continually seeking professional development opportunities, she is dedicated to providing best practices and achieving optimal outcomes for her patients. Beyond her professional endeavors, she enjoys exploring Virginia wineries with her husband, daughter, and playful miniature goldendoodle.

Potomac River Clinic provides clinical services to the greater Washington, DC area, in addition to serving The River School, an independent school with an inclusion program for children with hearing loss. Our mission is to equip children with hearing loss and their families with a foundation for lifelong learning through listening and spoken language. Our audiologists work closely with our speech pathologists, educators, and psychologists to address the speech, language, and hearing needs of our patients. 

Hearing care services

Our audiological offerings encompass thorough hearing assessments for both children and adults, precise hearing aid fitting and programming through real ear verification, expert cochlear implant evaluations and programming, as well as adept troubleshooting, cerumen removal, and the provision of assistive listening devices. In addition, our state-of-the-art facility is equipped to serve even the youngest patients through specialized auditory brainstem response testing. Additionally, our therapists specialize in promoting listening and spoken language skills.
