Dr. Avni Patankar completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and later opted for a career in Speech Pathology and Audiology, a path founded while asisting pediatric patients diagnosed with genetic disorders during her time with the Marcus Institute in Atlanta. Her interest in Audiology peeked at Auburn University while completing clinical coursework prior to graduate studies. She completed her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from East Tennessee State University in 2011. Dr. Patankar received her doctorate training at the Mountain Home Veterans Affairs Medical System in Johnson City, TN and completed her externship in Audiology at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA.
Her research findings were featured in the Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research in 2010 focused on “The normative data for Words in Noise (WIN) test in children 6 to 12 years of age.” She began her career working with the pediatric population, gradually serving patients of all ages from newborns to centenarians. Her experience includes working with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Pediatric ENT of Atlanta, Emory Healthcare, and Connect Hearing. Dr. Patankar has experience working with all major hearing aid brands, cochlear implants, and bone anchored hearing aids (BAHA). Dr. Patankar is board certified through American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She is also an active member of the American Tinnitus Association (ATA), American Academy of Audiology (AAA), and the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA).Residing in Forsyth County, with her husband, two daughters and their yellow lab. Her family enjoys traveling, visiting the Golden Isles of Georgia, board game nights on weekends, and any activities that they can do outdoors

“Avni Patankar is a very professional doctor! She is really knowledgeable in audiology and enjoys her work. Additionally, she spends enough time with each patient to ensure everything is done thoroughly and without rushing - unlike the strict and short time slots at other audiology clinics in Atlanta.
