Dr. Kurt Wright’s path to audiology is driven by a personal and powerful commitment. His dedication to helping others hear better goes beyond a career; it’s a calling born from his own family’s experience with hearing loss.
As a teenager, Dr. Wright witnessed firsthand the transformative effect of hearing aids when his mother faced significant hearing loss. Seeing the struggles this brought to his family motivated him to pursue a career in audiology. The positive change hearing aids brought to his mother’s life and their family dynamic inspired him to make a lasting impact for others facing similar challenges.
With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Wright has a wealth of knowledge in audiology. Before founding his own hearing clinic in Charlotte, North Carolina, he served as a regional director for a leading hearing aid manufacturer. His commitment to advancing hearing healthcare has been a guiding force throughout his career.
Today, alongside his wife, Deb, Dr. Wright has moved to Sebring, Florida, where they have established Abide Audiology. Dr. Wright leads the clinic with a steadfast commitment to staying updated on the latest audiology advancements and ensuring each patient receives exceptional care.
Dr. Wright holds a Doctor of Audiology Degree (Au.D.) from Salus University in Pennsylvania, a master’s in Audiology from Kent State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois. He is an active member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and is a Fellow of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA).
Outside of his profession, Dr. Wright and his wife, Deb, have been married for over 36 years, with two adult children and cherished grandchildren. When he’s not at the clinic, he enjoys walking, biking, and taking road trips with Deb—especially trips to visit their grandchildren.
