Audiologist
Scott Sumrall received his Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology in 2013 from the University of Nevada, Reno. He contined his studies at the University of Utah earning his Doctorate of Audiology. Scott spent time training at Sierra Nevada Veterans Affairs Hospital in Reno, NV and received specialized training in Utah at an otolaryngology practice and intermountain balance center.
Dr. Sumrall's specialties are pediatric and adult diagnostic audiology, hearing aid fitting, vestibular evaluations, and tinnitus. He focuses on rehabilitation through the use of prescribed hearing technology carefully selected based on individual necessity, evidence-based clinical practice, and aural rehabilitation. Dr. Sumrall remains at the forefront of advancements in hearing health care, continually expanding his knowledge and expertise to provide his patients with the highest quality care.

FREEDOM HEARING AND SPEECH

Several Types of Hearing Tests are Available:
- Audiometry
- Tympanometry
- Otoacoustic Emissions Testing
- Speech Testing
We’ll discuss your overall symptoms to determine which hearing tests will best meet your individual needs.
Hearing Aid Fitting - When properly fitted a hearing aid can make a world of difference in improving a patient's ability to hear their best. During a typical hearing aid fitting:
- Real Ear test
- Final adjustments needed to ensure your hearing aid is in optimum working order.
- A review of typical maintenance and upkeep tasks, such as how to change or charge the batteries of the hearing aid or how to sync it to your phone.
If needed, earmold impressions will be taken of your ears (this will usually occur two weeks prior to your fitting session). This will help ensure a comfortable fit.
Balance Disorder Testing - We can evaluate you for:
- Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
- Labyrinthitis
- Meniere’s Disease
- Cerebellar ataxia
- Sensory ataxia
If you have a balance disorder, we will discuss treatment options with you. We may suggest changes in diet, vestibular rehabilitation therapy, at home exercises, or we may refer you to a specialist for treatment.
