Dr. Kaela Fasman earned her bachelor’s degree in speech, language, and hearing sciences from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, and a clinical Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Kaela is passionate about providing excellent care and improving the quality of life of her patients and their families. She values her opportunity to help people live healthier and happier lives through improved communication and tinnitus relief. She enjoys educating friends, family, and patients about tinnitus and hearing loss.

Kelli Whitley,

Audiologist

Born and raised in Texas, Kelli Whitley earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas, and her Doctorate of Audiology from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans, LA.

Kelli Whitley is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by hearing loss and tinnitus. With expertise in diagnostic assessments, personalized treatment plans, and the latest audiological technology, she is committed to providing compassionate care and empowering patients to achieve better hearing health and enhanced quality of life.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her cat, Pepper. She loves traveling to and exploring new places and trying new food (she does miss Cajun food). She also loves watching sports and cheering on her favorite teams: the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Julie Prutsman,

Audiologist

Licensed doctor of Audiology Julie Prutsman, or "Dr. Julie", as everyone calls her, is an expert at helping people hear better and treating tinnitus. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Marietta College, her Master’s Degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Colorado and her Doctorate Degree in Audiology from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry’s School of Audiology. She is a member of the Colorado Academy of Audiology, American Academy of Audiology, International Hearing Society, and American Tinnitus Association.

Dr. Julie grew up in Highlands Ranch and is a graduate of Highlands Ranch High School.

“I came to Sound Relief due to chronic Tinnitus that I had suffered with for well over 8 years. After suffering a great deal of headaches, disrupted sleep, and troubles with concentration I knew I had to do something. From the moment that I started the therapy and using the new hearing aids combined with the pink noise I have felt progressively better. I haven't suffered the headaches for most of the last 7 months that I have been a patient. Dr. LaBrec has been great and very responsive to any questions that I have had. “I have been using the Oticon miniRITE R (with CROS) for about a year. I had previously used Phonak. I have been very happy with the switch. First I like that these are rechargeable vs messing with button batteries. The charge lasts all day, and nearly two under the right conditions. Second, I find they handle background noise better to help with honing in on the conversation you want to hear. The compression settings for noisy situations like restaurants is much better. Next I can't rave enough about having native support with iPhone and AppleWatch. My phone will measure battery life which I really appreciate. I can take calls and have the audio go directly to my hearing aids. This doesn't work too well in noisy situations, but otherwise is great. On top of that, when streaming a call, it doesn't turn off the external microphones so you still hear what's happening around you. That said, they aren't really that good for music. The sound isn't made for that and you'd be better off just using headphones like AirPods Pro or with transparent mode or bone induction headphones. I love that there really aren't tubes to get clogged and replace. It's a wire with a speaker. Oticon has an AppleWatch app and complication making program changes and volume corrections very simple and easy on the fly. My one critical thought and the only reason not to give it a 5 out of 5 is the charger. Since the LEDs on the hearing aids are not covered, there is light pollution on the charger that make it not good for bedside. Also, the power line isn't removable from the base despite being USB on the other end. This makes packing for travel less ideal. I would guess the next iteration would ditch USB A for the more accepted and prevalent USB C. I got around all of this by ordering the SmartCharger. It looks like a giant AirPods Pro case. It's USB C. All cables can be removed for travel. And zero light pollution. It has very straight forward leds only when the lid is open to show you the batter charge on the case which lasts for about three nights of recharging your hearing aids without USB power. I use this as my primary charging mechanism. A quick weekend getaway requires no cables or power bricks. In a pinch, hook it up to your computer or any USB charger to top it off. I would recommend to Oticon, ditch the desk charger and just stick with the smartcharger. As for Kaela Fasman at Sound Relief, I can't say enough great things about how she listens and helps make what you have work the best it can for you. I'm very grateful for her.”

The uncovered LEDs on the hearing aids cause light pollution on the charger, making it unsuitable for bedside use. Additionally, the non-removable power line on the base, despite being USB on the other end, is not ideal for travel. You suggest that the next iteration should consider using USB-C and provide a charger like the SmartCharger, which addresses these issues. The SmartCharger's USB-C compatibility, removable cables, and lack of light pollution make it a more convenient option for you. Your recommendation to Oticon is to consider discontinuing the desk charger in favor of the SmartCharger. “My initial visit I was impressed by how I was treated as if I was their only patient. Dr Kaela Fasman extremely helpful in explaining how each model of hearing aids how they work, their individual features and the benefits. She not only tested the full spectrum of my ears hearing ability but was able to customize each hearing aid program to compensate for my personal hearing loss. When she was done I could hear the full spectrum of frequencies. I was able to hear my granddaughters very quiet voices. I couldn't be happier with the results. ”

“I've been putting off going to an audiologist for a long time. So I decided to do something about my hearing loss and tinnitus. I saw the sound relief ad on TV. Called the Golden office (the closest to me) talked to Linda she was very friendly and we made an appointment that fit my busy schedule. Meet with Dr. Kate she tested me, we talked about my hearing loss and tinnitus. I tried some hearing aids and WOW I CAN HEAR. She stays in touch with me by email. It's only been about 6 weeks. I'll be making a follow up appointment after the the Holiday season. Thank you for everything so far ”

Sound Relief Tinnitus & Hearing Center offers specialized audiology services, including tinnitus treatment, extensive diagnostic hearing testing, and solutions for decreased sound tolerance.

Hearing & speech comprehensive testing/evaluation, consists of a series of tests and inspections to assess the overall hearing health of a patient.
Tinnitus assessment, tinnitus is common and often described as a "ringing, rushing or buzzing sound in the ears". The tinnitus assessment at Sound Relief combines tinnitus-specific tests, a comprehensive audiological evaluation, and tympanometry.
Hyperacusis assessment, a hearing disorder for patients with a decreased tolerance for everyday noise/sounds at such high levels that it causes irritation, anxiety, or even physical pain.
Hearing aid evaluation, based on your test results, needs, lifestyle and budget together we will determine which hearing device will best suite you.
Hearing aid sales, rechargeable, background noise cancellation and Bluetooth streaming capability.
Custom made and fitted hearing aids, using an earmold impression of the patient's ear.
Programming of hearing aids with your full prescription.
Real Ear Measurements (REM), REMs are the gold standard in audiology for verification that the hearing aids are working as they should and providing the intended benefits inside the patient’s ear canal at the eardrum.
Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions (DPOAEs), this test measure frequencies in each ear and the audiologist interprets the results found.
Removal and management of non-Impacted and impacted Cerumen (earwax).
